Technical Configuration and Setup
In preparation for the software implementation, the technical environments must be established and configured. Generally, our technical consultants and database specialists will work with your system administrators to install a test environment and a live environment on your site.

This ensures that best practices and software specific requirements are fully integrated in the implementation. Additionally, the technical installation activities provide for an opportunity to work closely with your company's technology department to analyze your server and network environments and confirm your hardware and software configurations.

Tasks normally completed during this phase include:


•	Second Foundation can assist to develop hardware requirements and finding suppliers.
•	Configuration of the server hardware and operating system environment.
•	Installing and configuring the database engine (eg Microsoft SQL server), server software and sizing the databases.
•	Assist in determining the appropriate technology for remote sites (e.g. Citrix).
•	Setup of database logs and backups for key data.
•	Setup of users and primary security configurations.
•	Second Foundation can assist with ongoing database administration needs.
